GreenUp 500 is a pet project initiated by Dominic Nsikan the DeforestACTION West Africa School Engagement Coordinator. GreenUp 500 is an environmental stewardship project modeled after the DeforestACTION school engagement program which seeks to engage school students and teachers to take actions aimed at halting deforestation. The project aims to engage 50 students from 5 secondary schools around Port Harcourt in planting 500 trees in Port Harcourt Community.

Project Expenses:
Grant Received: $200
Personal Fund: $100
Total Amount: $300
A total of 300 trees were procured at the rate of $1 each.
1 Tree = $1
300 Trees = $300
N/B: ( Exchange rate USD $1 = N160)
300 Trees = $300 * 160 = N48,000
This project hopes to attract more funds so that the remaining 200 Trees can be bought. However, at the moment I have succeeded in getting students from Prestige Youth Academy, BFB International School and Igwurutali community secondary school to commence planting of the 300 trees donated to them. To ensure the goals and objectives of this project is achieved, I have personally monitored the planting of these trees by selected students to certify that the trees are properly planted.I also provide logistics in terms of transportation
round the community to make sure the tree planting is evenly distributed.
